At present, the foundation's most significant undertaking is the construction of a new hospital in the remote Himalayan region of Dolpo, located in northwestern Nepal. Dolpo is a unique land where the rich traditions of Buddhism and Yungdrung Bön have flourished together in harmony for centuries, creating a remarkable heritage of spirituality, culture, and compassion.
Despite its profound cultural and spiritual wealth, Dolpo has long faced challenges due to its geographical isolation and the limited availability of modern transportation and healthcare services. Many local residents continue to lack access to essential medical care.
To address this need and to help preserve the precious knowledge of Tibetan medicine for future generations, the foundation is establishing the Chakpori Tibetan Medical learning center and Hospital. This historic project, inspired and blessed by His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, aims to provide quality healthcare, medical education, and compassionate service to the people of Dolpo while safeguarding an invaluable healing tradition for humanity.
